Safeguarding and Protecting Children Workshops
Swim England South West has been able to finalise some which will be run online over the next few months on the following dates:
- 6 February 2021 at 10am
- 23 February 2021 at 6pm
- 1 March 2021 at 6pm
- 13 March 2021 at 6pm
- 15 March 2021 at 6pm
- 18 March 2021 at 6pm

Coaches and teachers are reminded that it is crucial for you to attend when working with children and young people. Please book onto a course as soon as you can.

A free safeguarding basic awareness workshop has also been developed for volunteers to attend. This isn't a certified workshop and does not replace the need to attend a safeguarding workshop if needed. Read more about this workshop here.
Time to Listen Workshop
The next Time to Listen workshop is due to run on 6 March at 10am.
This is currently fully booked however Swim England South West is running an expression of interest list. Please email email@example.com to be added to this.
Safeguarding Course Fees
The South West Region has announced it will be reviewing the fees charged for attendance at its Safeguarding courses. Any introduction of payable fees will not occur prior to 1 April 2021 and the new fees will be announced in February.
Consequently, you are advised to attend a course at your earliest convenience.
Club membership officers are reminded to keep the OMS up to date when someone leaves the club. This helps to ensure communications go to the correct people. Aso please ensure that your workforce Safeguarding and DBS are kept up to date along with their qualifications.
By doing this regularly it will be easier to submit element 13 when renewing SwimMark / Stronger Affiliation for your club.
