Stronger Affiliation - Safeguarding
Diane Gibbs, Dorset ASA County Secretary has emailed the following on 19 Apr 2020 for circulation to Club Committees:
An email will be sent out to all clubs next week with details of how county business is being managed during the lockdown, but in the meantime please be aware of the following.
There is no indication that Swim England intends to put Stronger Affiliation on hold or to push the submissions further forward in the calendar due to the lockdown.
We have written to Swimming England’s CEO to question this but, until any specific directive or guidance is issued, clubs ought to be still working towards ensuring they have the necessary documentation to support Stronger Affiliation requirements.
If any club has coaches, teachers, administrators or helpers who require a Safeguarding cert, Swim England SWR is holding online training which counts as the standard face to face workshop, and which is being run by the tutor who ran our face to face sessions.
This is for anyone requiring the initial face-to-face workshop. The following ilink shows dates/times and cost. More dates are going to be added, but it would be good if those that need this CPD take this opportunity – it is unknown if and when we will be able to run any physical workshops this year.
