Swim England, based in Loughborough is seeking a Technical Officials Lead to work on a voluntary basis within Water Polo.

Swim England’s Water Polo Leadership Group is responsible for Water Polo development and competition on behalf of the national governing body in England and is looking to appoint a Technical Officials Lead on a voluntary basis to further develop and drive forward the sport of Water Polo.

The Technical Officials Lead acts as an informed voice in relation to the technical delivery of the discipline, providing input and advice on the implementation of rules and supporting the delivery of technical officials’ education. The Technical Officials Lead will also be a central point of contact for the technical delivery of a National Event.

Your specific responsibilities will be to:
  • Provide technical input to the decisions of the Group to ensure that Swim England Technical Rules are compliant with the rules of international federations where appropriate
  • Provide relevant technical input to the Swim England Technical Officials delivery to ensure all education is up to date.
  • Provide support and advice to the National Development Officer in relation to Technical Officials helping to implement the policies and strategies agreed by the Group whilst respecting the corporate responsibility of Swim England.
  • Work to ensure the relationship between the Discipline Leadership Group, the technical officials’ community, Swim England Sport Operations Committee, Swim England team members and volunteers is efficient and functional
  • Working with the National Development Officer, ensure effective communication between Swim England members, the Group and the technical officials’ community.
  • Provide advice and support to Swim England Events Team on the recruitment and appointment of Technical Officials.
