Queensland supplied a huge boost to the waterlogged State with a stirring 8-5 semifinal victory over the previously unbeaten Western Australia Gold men at the national 20 years & under water polo titles at Perth's Challenge Stadium on 18 January 2011.

Queensland was always on top, thanks to a 3-0 start, which moved to a 6-3 advantage at the end of three quarters. Twice Queensland, thanks to three-goal efforts from Mason Fettell and Matt Giles, went to four-goal leads in the final quarter.

WA Gold looked flat throughout, taking poor options and losing the ball on numerous occasions through poor passing and excellent Queensland defence.

Queensland faced NSW Blues in the final after the Blues beat NSW Waratahs 14-3 in the other semifinal. The Blues shot to a 7-1 lead and neither side let up the pace before the end of the game.

NSW Blues went on to defeat Queensland 18-6 in Perth on 23 January 2011, bringing up a third consecutive title.
