Club Contacts, Fixture Secretaries (contact details as at 11 Sep2015 below) and Officials are requested to read carefully all of the following.

Fixture Secretaries

You will need to login to your respective League and Key Stage League Administration areas to offer and confirm fixtures, including dates, times and venues. To minimise the likelihood of fixtures being forgotten, all matches have been pre-inserted with fixture date 30 Jun 2016 (the last day of the season) together with TBC (To Be Confirmed) in the Comments field (see ^ below for exception)

Fixture Secretaries should edit  

• the date and time of existing respective entries
• edit the venue as appropriate
• overtype TBC with Offered or Confirmed as appropriate in the Comments field.

Please complete your Club's full fixture schedules promptly and no later than 30 Sep 2015 to enable club coaches, players, officials, volunteers, press and sponsors to prepare their schedules. Even if your team intends to play its fixtures later in the 9 month season, please input the schedule NOW to avoid embarrassing the League and opposing Clubs by forfeiting games.

At this stage we are assuming all 2014/15 season teams wish to compete in 2015/16 - team entry fees for 2015/16 must paid by 30 Sep 2015, otherwise results will not be included. If you become aware that

• a Club team intends not to enter or
• another club wishes to enter a team, or
• a club wishes to enter an additional team, or
• a club has changed one or more team Fixtures Secretaries,

please contact admin@dorsetwaterpolo.org IMMEDIATELY so that we can

• email our contacts, 
• update the scheduling software to add or remove fixtures and
• grant / remove access to league administration areas

as required.

No doubt many girls and boys will have enjoyed and have been inspired by watching Seagulls & Otter's Kathy Rodgers playing water polo in Baku in 2015 and seeing team mates progress to regional and national talent development camps. We welcome Clubs wishing to support the development of Junior Ladies and Youth competitions as mini-tournaments - clubs are invited to confirm their interest to admin@dorsetwaterpolo.org.

Club Responsibilities

League Fees - Clubs will be invoiced in Sep 2015 £10 per particpating team  for payment by 30 Sep 20145.

* Recognising the importance of acquiring and developing ball handling and positional skills from an early age, DWPL has agreed that Clubs entering a KS2 team  will be able to enter additional teams in the 2015/16 KS2 League for free.

A list of non-paying Clubs will be circulated to Fixture Secretaries.

Clubs are reminded that they are responsible for registering players, officials and coaches with the ASA in the correct membership categories. Fixture Secretaries are required to supply

• squad lists (Team - Full Name, DoB, ASA Membership No) for their competing teams to admin@dorsetwaterpolo.org by 30 Sep 2015 and
• similarly updated information as the season progresses.

DWPL encourages Clubs to provide the numbers of players, broken down by gender and age for each League for which they may be eligible to compete. We will then consider the possibility of  enabling players who may not otherwise get opportunities to play regularly to multi-register with a 'lead' Club to form a 'nomad' team. Clubs are reminded that players cannot turn out for more than one Club to which they are affiliated in the same League so please bear that in mind when selecting squads. 

Fixture Secretaries should ensure the dates and times offered allow away teams reasonable time to travel to the venue, particularly if games are scheduled for mid-week evenings.

^ Home and away fixtures between teams of the same Club in a division must be played by 31 March 2016.

Home clubs are responsible for sending correctly completed match result sheets with player information (forenames AND surnames, please)  to John Bolton within 7 days of the fixture.

Failure to supply squad lists and all match sheets may result in

• games being forfeited
• insurance being invalidated
• possible expulsion of teams / Clubs from the League.

For the avoidance of doubt, Fixture Secretaries are asked to cc admin@dorsetwaterpolo.org when emailing suggested fixture schedules and accepting proposed times and venues. In the event that a team wishes to claim a forfeit for an unplayed fixture, the League will require a full explanation with evidence, including correspondence.

A lot of League volunteer time was wasted in 2014/15 due to the unacceptably high number of forfeits. Unfulfilled fixtures are extremely damaging not only for the reputation of participating Clubs and DWPL, but for the sport of water polo and its ability to attract sponsorship, so your best efforts will be appreciated by everyone involved. It is so much easier just to play the games!

Dorset Shield

Fixture Secretaries are responsible for ensuring the prelimiary round and final are played by 31 Dec 2015 once the participating Senior Men's team draw has been made.

Officials

All clubs are reminded of the need to use appropriately qualified match officials and wherever possible, referees not affiliated to competing teams. Travelling expenses should be offered to visiting match referees and these amounts should be budgeted for by host Clubs eg when setting session fees / specatator fees.

Please note that original software calculations and sorting rules were modified to produce the League Tables . Placing anomalies may therefore occur. If you discover any, please send details to admin@dorsetwaterpolo.org. Ultimately placings will be determined in accordance with 9a) to 9e) of the League Constitution.
