Nominate your club for a Community Sport and Recreation Award 2016

Nominations are open for the Community Sport and Recreation Awards 2016 and the Sport and Recreation Alliance is encouraging applications from community clubs across the country.

Running for over two decades, the annual awards ceremony was designed to celebrate grassroots sport and recreational organisations, bodies and clubs and the work they do in their local communities.

In 2015, the Sport and Recreation Alliance received almost 200 nominations and were able to award seven outstanding clubs for their work in local communities across the UK with a cash prize.

This year there are five award categories which highlight the range of work that\\\'s undertaken throughout the sport and recreational community. These include:

  • Community Sport + Recreation Overall Winner
  • Professional Club Community Programme of the Year Award
  • Innovative Project Award
  • Youth Volunteering
  • Social Impact

Also celebrated at the awards are individual prizes – the Emeritus Award for a life-time\\\'s commitment to sport and recreation and the Arthur Bell Trophy, which recognises people who have given tremendous services to community sport.

Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on 14 July in London, by HRH Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex.

The nomination process is simple - visit the Sport and Recreation Alliance website for details and criteria for each of the award categories, an online application form, as well as full terms and conditions.

The application form is limited to 500 words, however feel free to include a link to any supporting evidence you may have, such as a video, website or other link. Make sure you include as much information as possible to showcase the great work you do!

Clubs can make multiple applications in different categories – but only one nomination per club per category is allowed. Shortlisted applications will be verified with governing bodies.

For any additional information or if you have any questions, please visit the Sport and Recreation Alliance website or alternatively email the ASA Volunteer Engagement Team.
